• SPORTS USE ENERGY
    and this will lower your blood glucose levels. You are therefore likely to need additional snacks before sports and possibly during and after it too. Don’t exercise on an empty stomach. Avoid dehydration during exercise by drinking extra fluids.
  • AVOID HIGH IMPACT SPORTS
    In general, you should avoid high impact sports (e.g. rugby or martial arts), especially if your liver is enlarged. In the case of rugby, tag rugby may be an acceptable option for you.
  • SOME SPORTS USE MORE ENERGY THAN OTHERS
    Some sports like swimming, particularly in colder water, or endurance sports, burn up more energy than others. You will need to think about this when preparing snacks for sports.
